Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the largest division and the most visible component of the Dyersburg Police Department. Officers assigned to this division provide twenty-four-hour patrol of the city and utilize proactive law enforcement to prevent crimes and protect life and property. Officers assigned to this division provide initial response to all calls for service, both routine and emergency; secure crime scenes; respond to traffic crashes; perform initial and follow-up investigations of crimes; arrest and transport suspects; and testify in court. There are also two K-9s and their handlers assigned to the Patrol Division. The K-9s purpose is to support patrol officers as well as detectives of the department. The division is commanded by two Lieutenants sharing responsibility for the management of the Patrol Division and School Resource Officer Unit within the division. The division operates four twelve-hour shifts, with each shift supervised by a Sergeant. The School Resource Officer Unit is comprised of four School Resource Officers (SROs) who are sworn Law Enforcement Officers responsible for the safety and crime prevention within our schools. The Patrol Division is comprised of uniformed men and women who are dedicated to providing excellent service to those who live, work, and visit the City of Dyersburg.
