About the Mayor
Mayor Holden was first elected in November 2006 and is now serving his fifth term as Mayor of the City of Dyersburg following his re-election in November 2022.
Mayor Holden is a 1978 graduate of Dyersburg High School. He attended Dyersburg State Community College, transferred to U.T. Knoxville and graduated with a Business Administration degree in 1983. He was elected in 1994 to the Dyer County Legislative Body and served for a total of 12 years, including 3 years as Budget Committee Chairman and 7 years as Education Committee Chairman.
Mayor Holden is a member of the Board of Directors of the Dyersburg-Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Trustees for West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital, served on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Municipal League, past president of the Tennessee Municipal League, a member and past President of the Dyersburg Noon Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, past President of the YMCA of Dyer County and the Dyersburg State Community College Alumni Association, a 2016 graduate of WestStar Leadership Program and is serving on the WestStar Board of Trustees. He serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of West Tennessee and is currently the 2022-2023 Chairman. Mayor Holden serves on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Tennessee Development District (NWTDD), the Board of Directors of Public Entity Partners (PEP) and is a member of the West Tennessee Mayor's Association. Mayor Holden has two children, ages 22 and 21. They are active members of First Baptist Church, Dyersburg.
